JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an agreement which authorizes Aquila, Inc. to construct and operate a new 161 kV electric substation. The substation will replace an existing 69 kV substation located at the same site in Cass County near Peculiar, Missouri. The new substation will be located on East Street along Route YY.
The agreement approved by the commission was filed by Aquila, Inc., the Office of the Public Counsel and the staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission. The parties agreed that the substation is necessary for the safe and efficient provision of electrical service in Aquila’s service territory.
“Having reviewed the Stipulation and Agreement, the Commission finds it reasonable and lawful to approve the Stipulation and Agreement and grant the requested certificate of public convenience and necessity to construct and operate the Peculiar II Substation,” said the commission.
