The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, steam, natural gas, water and sewer and telephone companies. Its mission is to ensure Missouri consumers have access to safe, reliable and reasonably priced utility service while allowing those utility companies under our jurisdiction an opportunity to earn a reasonable return on their investment. The PSC also regulates manufacturers and retail dealers who sell new and used manufactured homes and modular units. The commission was established in 1913. The PSC is comprised of five commissioners, who are appointed by the governor.

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission established the deadline for those parties wishing to intervene and participate in an electric rate case filed by Union Electric Company d/b/a AmerenUE.
Applications to intervene and participate should be filed no later than April 28, 2008, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102. The commission has scheduled hearings for November in the rate case. Hearings, to be held in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building in Jefferson City (200 Madison Street), are scheduled for November 5-7, November 10, November 12-14, November 17-21 and November 24-26, 2008.
These hearings will be held in a building that meets accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. On April 4, 2008, AmerenUE filed an electric rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual electric operating revenues by approximately $251 million. According to an AmerenUE press release, the requested increase would mean less than $9 more per month for the average household.
AmerenUE provides electric service to approximately 1.2 million
customers in Missouri.
