The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, steam, natural gas, water and sewer and telephone companies. Its mission is to ensure Missouri consumers have access to safe, reliable and reasonably priced utility service while allowing those utility companies under our jurisdiction an opportunity to earn a reasonable return on their investment. The PSC also regulates manufacturers and retail dealers who sell new and used manufactured homes and modular units. The commission was established in 1913. The PSC is comprised of five commissioners, who are appointed by the governor.

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold hearings December 18-19, 2007, in a territorial agreement case filed by The Empire District Electric Company (Empire) and Ozark Electric Cooperative (Ozark).
The joint application seeks Missouri Public Service Commission approval of an electric territorial agreement which designates the provider of electric service to a tract of land located just south of the City of Republic in Greene County.
Under the proposed territorial agreement, Ozark will acquire certain electric facilities from Empire and the agreement, if approved, will result in a change of electric supplier for some customers.
The hearings on December 18-19, 2007, will be held in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street in Jefferson City. The Governor Office Building meets accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
