The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, steam, natural gas, water and sewer and telephone companies. Its mission is to ensure Missouri consumers have access to safe, reliable and reasonably priced utility service while allowing those utility companies under our jurisdiction an opportunity to earn a reasonable return on their investment. The PSC also regulates manufacturers and retail dealers who sell new and used manufactured homes and modular units. The commission was established in 1913. The PSC is comprised of five commissioners, who are appointed by the governor.

JEFFERSON CITY---Aquila, Inc. (Aquila) has filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking approval of a heat rate and/or efficiency schedule and testing plan for its generating units.
Aquila was directed to complete a heat rate and/or efficiency schedule and testing plan as part of the Public Service Commission’s May 17, 2007 decision in an Aquila electric rate case.
The heat rate and/or efficiency test results will be used to determine a base level of efficiency for each of Aquila’s generating units. Results of future heat rate and/or efficiency tests will help track the operating efficiency of the generating units.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than December 5, 2007, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O.
