Contact: Kevin Kelly (573) 751-9300
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- JANUARY 8, 2008
JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by Missouri Gas Energy (MGE) to adjust the infrastructure system replacement surcharge (ISRS) on the bills of its natural gas customers. The surcharge first appeared on customer bills in April 2004.
MGE sought the ISRS adjustment to reflect infrastructure replacement investments made by the natural gas company from November 2006 through September 2007. These costs for natural gas pipeline replacements and relocations are not currently included in MGE’s rates.
Residential customers will pay an ISRS of $0.22 a month. Small general service customers will pay $0.16 a month; large general service customers will pay $0.96 a month; and large volume customers will pay an ISRS surcharge of $7.38 a month.
MGE provides natural gas service to approximately 512,700 natural gas customers in western Missouri.
