FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- JANUARY 15, 2008

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by Laclede Gas Company (Laclede) to implement a new infrastructure system replacement surcharge (ISRS) on the bills of its natural gas customers.  The surcharge first appeared on customer bills in June 2004.

Laclede sought the ISRS to reflect infrastructure replacement investments made by the natural gas company from April 1, 2007 through September 30, 2007.  These costs for natural gas pipeline replacements and relocations are not currently included in Laclede’s rates.  Residential customers will pay a surcharge of 20 cents a month.  The ISRS takes effect on January 18, 2008.

Laclede Gas Company serves approximately 631,300 natural gas customers in the City of St. Louis as well as the Missouri counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Butler, Iron, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve.
