The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, steam, natural gas, water and sewer and telephone companies. Its mission is to ensure Missouri consumers have access to safe, reliable and reasonably priced utility service while allowing those utility companies under our jurisdiction an opportunity to earn a reasonable return on their investment. The PSC also regulates manufacturers and retail dealers who sell new and used manufactured homes and modular units. The commission was established in 1913. The PSC is comprised of five commissioners, who are appointed by the governor.
PR-08-57 -- PSC Modifies Hearing Schedule In Missouri Gas Utility Rate Case

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- OCTOBER 23, 2007
JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission has modified the hearing schedule and will now hold formal evidentiary hearings in April in a natural gas rate case filed by Missouri Gas Utility, Inc. The natural gas company is seeking a rate increase of approximately $443,100. According to its filing, Missouri Gas Utility, Inc. is proposing an overall increase of approximately 28.4%.
Hearings in the rate request were originally scheduled to start on March 17, 2008 and continue through March 28, 2008, if necessary. Hearings are now scheduled to begin on April 7, 2008 and will continue through April 11, 2008, if necessary. These hearings will be held in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, in Jefferson City.

Missouri Gas Utility, Inc. serves approximately 900 natural gas customers in the communities of Hamilton, Gallatin, Jameson and Coffey in Caldwell and Daviess Counties.
The Public Service Commission will hold a local public hearing in the company’s service area to receive customer comment on a rate proposal. The date, time and location of that hearing will be announced when finalized.
