The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, steam, natural gas, water and sewer and telephone companies. Its mission is to ensure Missouri consumers have access to safe, reliable and reasonably priced utility service while allowing those utility companies under our jurisdiction an opportunity to earn a reasonable return on their investment. The PSC also regulates manufacturers and retail dealers who sell new and used manufactured homes and modular units. The commission was established in 1913. The PSC is comprised of five commissioners, who are appointed by the governor.

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold a local public hearing in Shell Knob on May 14, 2008 to receive customer comment on a water rate case filed by Aqua Missouri, Inc. (Aqua Missouri). The hearing schedule is set out below.

This local public hearing will be held in a building that meets accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Aqua Missouri is seeking to change its water and sewer rates for all of its 11 service areas in Cole, Callaway, Pettis, Greene, Benton, Taney, Christian, Morgan, Stone and Barry counties.
Aqua Missouri is seeking to increase annual water operating revenues by approximately $21,630 in its Lakewood Manor and by approximately $132,860 in its Ozark Mountain service area.
A current and proposed monthly bill for a residential customer using approximately 5,000 gallons of water in the company’s Lakewood Manor and Ozark Mountain service areas appears below.
