The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, steam, natural gas, water and sewer and telephone companies. Its mission is to ensure Missouri consumers have access to safe, reliable and reasonably priced utility service while allowing those utility companies under our jurisdiction an opportunity to earn a reasonable return on their investment. The PSC also regulates manufacturers and retail dealers who sell new and used manufactured homes and modular units. The commission was established in 1913. The PSC is comprised of five commissioners, who are appointed by the governor.

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold a local public hearing in Jefferson City on May 28, 2008 to receive customer comment on water and sewer rate cases filed by Aqua Missouri, Inc. (Aqua Missouri). The hearing schedule is set out below.

Aqua Missouri is seeking to change its water and sewer rates for all 11 of its service areas in Cole, Callaway, Pettis, Greene, Benton, Taney, Christian, Morgan, Stone and Barry counties.
Aqua Missouri is seeking to increase annual water operating revenues by approximately $63,330 in its Jefferson City service area. The company is seeking to increase annual sewer operating revenues by approximately $700,900 in its Jefferson City service area and by approximately $9,600 in its Ozark Meadows service area.
A current and proposed monthly water bill for a residential customer using approximately 5,000 gallons in the company’s Jefferson City service area as well as the current and proposed residential sewer customer flat monthly rate in the Jefferson City and Ozark Meadows service areas appear below.
