The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, steam, natural gas, water and sewer and telephone companies. Its mission is to ensure Missouri consumers have access to safe, reliable and reasonably priced utility service while allowing those utility companies under our jurisdiction an opportunity to earn a reasonable return on their investment. The PSC also regulates manufacturers and retail dealers who sell new and used manufactured homes and modular units. The commission was established in 1913. The PSC is comprised of five commissioners, who are appointed by the governor.

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold a local public hearing in Sedalia, Missouri on May 27, 2008 to receive customer comment on water and sewer rate cases filed by Aqua Missouri, Inc. (Aqua Missouri). The hearing schedule is set out below.

Aqua Missouri is seeking to change its water and sewer rates for all 11 of its service areas in Cole, Callaway, Pettis, Greene, Benton, Taney, Christian, Morgan, Stone and Barry counties.
Aqua Missouri is seeking to increase annual water operating revenues by approximately $63,330 in its Maplewood service area, and by approximately $30,760 in its White Branch service area. Aqua Missouri also seeks to increase annual sewer operating revenues by approximately $43,290 in its Maplewood service area and by approximately $9,600 in its Ozark Meadows service area.
A current and proposed monthly water and sewer bill for a residential customer using approximately 5,000 gallons of water in the company’s Maplewood service area; the current and proposed flat rate for a full time residential water customer in the company’s White Branch service area; and the current and proposed flat monthly rate for a residential sewer customer in the Ozark Meadows service area appears below.

Aqua Missouri serves approximately 385 water and sewer customers in its Maplewood service area in Pettis County near Sedalia; approximately 190 water customers in its White Branch service area in Benton County near Warsaw; and 15 sewer customers in its Ozark Meadows service area in Morgan County near Laurie, Missouri.
